The founding of North Alantic Treaty Organization (NATO) helped weaker nations (for example, West Germany and Hungary) to form a collective security and standing army to prevent communist party from taking over. In the organization of NATO, U.S. took the role to provide money, troops, and leadership. What the United States did to try to contain the spread of communism was unjustified because they failed to accomplish their promises. When the Soviet leaders moved quickly eliminating thousands of hungarian protesters, many relied on America's bid to support, but America failed to rescue. They could not take the risk of going to war with the Soviet Union to help one of its satellites.
U.S.'s decision to support the Nationlist in China was a justified decision because it benefits America position for the Cold War. Also knowing Mao and Stalin have simillar policies, it is necessary to not support China's communist party. Cutting off trades with China help gained more trust between citizens in United State and its own government.

If Soviet Union Hegamony did not happen it could have prevented the cold war. If Soviet Union did not set up Soviet-controlled governments around Eastern Europe and promoted communism by force, the United State would have felt less violated. Moreover, U.S. began to think that the Soviet Union was trying to dominate the world.
The Truman Doctrine was a policy outlining the aid Greece and Turkey would recieve from the U.S. to resist communism. Truman wanted to stop the spread of communism. On the other hand, the Soviets thought that the United State destroying communism was threatening Soviet's security. Without the agreement of the doctirne it could have prevented the cold war because the Soviet Union would feel less about United State's opposition of their government

If the United States did not suspect Soviet Union as a threat at the very beginning, it could have prevented the cold war. Because the U.S. built a "climat of fear" which is "a hysteria about communism", people fear that Soviet Union will take advantage of their very positive recovery after the war.
